Assault on Osgiliath with Mono-Tactics 1 & 2 – October 19, 2019

Introduction

Going from one of my favorite scenarios to one of my least favorite.

Decklist

Play by Play 1

Starting hand: Arod, Dagger of Westernesse, Gandalf, Knights of the Swan, and a couple of cards I forgot.

Basically scooped this game after round 1 had 2 Southron Phalanx engage, shadow gave 1 an extra attack and undefended second attack knocked out a hero.

Play by Play 2

Stating hand: Bofur, Honour Guard, Knights of the Swan, Derndingle Warrior, Rivendell Blade, and Defender of Rammas.

Turn 1: Beechbone drawn. Play Rivendell Blade on Legolas. Play Defender of Rammas. Eowyn quests for 4. The Power of Mordor revealed raising threat by 3 to 31. Starting location and enemy shuffled back into encounter deck and Ruined Square and Haradrim Elite replace them. Haradrim Elite attacks and is defended by Defender of Rammas. Shadow has no effect and no damage dealt. No threat gained from questing (4 threat vs 4 willpower). Travel to Ruined Square. Haradrim Elite engages and attacks. Beregond defends and shadow adds 3 atrack dealing 3 damage to Beregond. Legolas attacks dealing 3 damage to the Elite. Refresh and threat is 32. Almost won on round 1.

Turn 2: Eagles of the Misty Mountains drawn. Play Honour Guardand Knights of the Swan. No one sent to the quest. Uruk Soldier added to the staging area. Threat increases to 33 for questing unsuccessfully. Uruk soldier engages. Elite attacks and Defender of Rammas defends, shadow says elite attacks again after, and no damage dealt. Knights of the Swan defend the second attack, no shadow but knights die. Honour Guard defends the soldier’s attack and dies despite no shadow effect. Legolas attacks and kills Harad Elite placing 3 progress on ruined square to explore it. I win at the end of the round as I control the only Osgilith location in play.

Score: 33 threat + 2 rounds * 10 + 3 damage on Beregond = 56
