Introduction
Below are logs of my solo games. Each one will start off with an overview about the game could possibly include my deckbuilding thoughts, impressions about the scenario, summary of gameplay, deck performance, and most likely spoilers about scenario and the outcome of the game. Decklists are also included followed by the log formatted as an outline with the various game phases as headings and action windows marked. Decks are self made unless otherwise noted.

- The Weather Hills with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck 3 – January 20, 2023I put in some more repeatable healing with a third Daughter of Nimrodel and 2 Self Preservations. I also put in another East Road Ranger and 2 Hasty Strokes taking out the Curious Brandybucks, Lore of Imladris, Will of the West, and 1 Stand and Fight. Hopefully the deck performs a bit more consistently this time around. … Continue reading The Weather Hills with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck 3 – January 20, 2023
- To Catch An Orc with a Minimum Purchase Deck 3 – January 19, 2020I was traveling last weekend and didn’t a chance to try The Weather Hills again. - The Weather Hills with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck 2 – January 7, 2023My opening hand after taking a mulligan looked promising. Primarily because of Steward, Gandalf, and Valiant Sacrifice. I thought this would mean that I wouldn’t have the same ally screw issue like the last game. I can definitely say this one played out quite differently.… Continue reading The Weather Hills with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck 2 – January 7, 2023
- The Weather Hills with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck – December 23, 2022This introduction should be much shorter than my last one. I got The Weather Hills to the table not long after beating Intruders in Chetwood. It’s been a long time since I’ve played this one and just remember healing being important. My opening hand wasn’t great but I was hesitant to mulligan away from 2 healing cards. … Continue reading The Weather Hills with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck – December 23, 2022
- Intruders in Chetwood with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck – December 19, 2022I started Angmar Awakened campaign using a revised card pool minimum purchase deck. I’m also playing on easy mode with Grace of the Valar variant … Continue reading Intruders in Chetwood with Wandering the Lost Realm a Revised Card Pool Minimum Purchase Deck – December 19, 2022
- To Catch An Orc with a Minimum Purchase Deck 2 – January 18, 2020I didn’t get a chance to build the revised card pool minimum purchase deck I wanted to try for the Angmar Awakened campaign. I got the campaign cards printed a few weeks ago, and got them sleeved. Just need to find the time to play it. In the meantime, here is a game from a few years ago with a very different minimum purchase deck. … Continue reading To Catch An Orc with a Minimum Purchase Deck 2 – January 18, 2020
- Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – December 7th, 2022I really wanted to see if I just had bad luck last game. I think the changes I made are what is needed if I can get the right draws. I wasn’t sure if getting all 3 copies of Armored Destrier in my opening hand was a great start or not. … Continue reading Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – December 7th, 2022
- Massing at Osgiliath with 4 Unlikely Heroes – December 1st, 2022I tweaked the events for more card draw and threat reduction. It should have helped my late game. Unfortunately, I had the worst start so far in playing this scenario.… Continue reading Massing at Osgiliath with 4 Unlikely Heroes – December 1st, 2022
- To Catch An Orc with a Minimum Purchase Deck – January 18, 2020After the successful completion of The Dunland Trap with Dave’s minimum purchase deck, I decided to try one of my own. I went back to To Catch An Orc since I didn’t beat with the Silvan deck.… Continue reading To Catch An Orc with a Minimum Purchase Deck – January 18, 2020
- Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – November 6th, 2022I know last time I talked about using a whole new deck, but life got in the way of brewing something else. I decided to run this one again to at least get a game in this week.… Continue reading Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – November 6th, 2022
- Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – October 30, 2022I went back to Massing at Osgiliath after taking a break from the game. The Angmar Awakened Print and Play campaign is out, but I’m want to beat this first before attempting it. Also, I wanted to see if using The One Ring as I originally intended helps. … Continue reading Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – October 30, 2022
- The Dunland Trap with Minimum Purchase Rohan Deck 5 – January 12, 2020I made some minor changes to the deck. I took out Celebrian’s Stone, a Hasty Stroke, and Horn of Gondor to make room for 3 copies of Power of Orthanc. I really think it’s necessary because of In Need of Rest. … Continue reading The Dunland Trap with Minimum Purchase Rohan Deck 5 – January 12, 2020

- The Dunland Trap with Minimum Purchase Rohan Deck – January 11, 2020I skipped over Into Fangorn because Dave created a minimum purchase deck for me to try. A bit of background on this since it is when Dave and I started talking on Reddit a couple years ago. Dave posted on r/lotrlcg about an episode highlighting a deck he built. I mentioned there how I appreciated minimum purchase decks (decks using only the player cards that came with expansions necessary to play a scenario) as a great entry point for new players. Dave thought it was a great idea and asked for a scenario to build one for. I suggested The Dunland Trap and he made one and an episode highlighting it. I hadn’t quite gotten to Dunland Trap at the time, but my excitement to try it was strong. … Continue reading The Dunland Trap with Minimum Purchase Rohan Deck – January 11, 2020
- To Catch an Orc with Flavor of the Lady – January 5, 2020I took the Silvans up against the next scenario right after my win on The Fords of Isen. … Continue reading To Catch an Orc with Flavor of the Lady – January 5, 2020
- The Fords of Isen with Flavor of the Lady – January 5, 2020The net decking continues as I redo Fords of Isen after my win earlier was tainted by a missed trigger. I hadn’t ever played Silvans before this. I had heard about on podcasts and it was high on my list to try. I like tricky combo decks. Silvans getting bonuses for bouncing in and out of play sounded right up my alley. It reminded me of the tempo control mono-blue Ninja Magic deck that I played and tuned for years at least in the bouncing in and out of play mechanisms. … Continue reading The Fords of Isen with Flavor of the Lady – January 5, 2020
- The Fords of Isen with No Men Self-Starters – December 31, 2019I changed up the Necromancer deck a little bit to fix some issues from the my first attempt. I thought having Erestor discarding my hand would help the Necromancers have targets to bring back with Stand and Fight. It really hindered things instead since I usually didn’t the resources for much beyond playing Stand and Fight once. Plus discarding A Test of Will without using it was never good. Dain too his place for more defense and possible resource acceleration with Hidden Cache. Plus his ability could help get allies into the discard pile. … Continue reading The Fords of Isen with No Men Self-Starters – December 31, 2019
- The Fords of Isen with Hobbit Decks 3 – December 31, 2019Sorry the playthroughs have been a bit sporadic lately. I’m hoping to get back on a regular schedule starting with the last attempt using the Unlikely Hobbit Professions fellowship!… Continue reading The Fords of Isen with Hobbit Decks 3 – December 31, 2019
- Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – September 10, 2022No review today, but I have playthrough of the first Print on Demand / Gencon quest! Also an update on my current thinking about Angmar Awakened campaign PnP and what it means for my playthroughs. … Continue reading Massing at Osgiliath with 3 Unlikely Heroes – September 10, 2022
- The Fords of Isen with Hobbit Decks 2 – December 29, 2019I changed up the Necromancer deck a little bit to fix some issues from the my first attempt. … Continue reading The Fords of Isen with Hobbit Decks 2 – December 29, 2019
- The Fords of Isen with Hobbit Decks – November 10, 2019After successfully completed Against the Shadow cycle, I continued on to Ringmaker. Ringmaker represents a change in how I played the game. Before I was trying to create a single deck that I would tweak as needed during a cycle. This cycle I abandoned that to experiment with more deck types. I started off playing two handed to play more decks. Spoiler alert, two handed play won’t last long. Still, I remember being excited about trying these two decks I found on Ringsdb and since I couldn’t decide which to play I chose both. I had to make changes because of card overlap, but I got a 2 handed fellowship that I was excited for. … Continue reading The Fords of Isen with Hobbit Decks – November 10, 2019
- Deadmen’s Dike with Lore Tactics Angmar Awakened Minimum Purchase Deck – August 18, 2022I know the last time I attempted Deadman’s Dike with my last minimum purchase deck that I said I would try it again. I had this idea about making dual sphere deck to help speed up my early game. Also I wanted to improve the combat ability which to including Tactics. Particularly for Derndingle Warrior which I know from my old Mono Tactics deck is a great defender. Something that my previous decks had been missing. … Continue reading Deadmen’s Dike with Lore Tactics Angmar Awakened Minimum Purchase Deck – August 18, 2022
