Introduction
I didn’t have a lot of time to play and no time to tweak my deck. I didn’t want to skip playing. I took out Scout Ahead, shuffled up, and hoped for the best.

Postmortem
It was a really bad idea to not tweak my deck after Across the Ettenmoors. Although I can easily blame not getting Steward of Gondor too. I had a lot of Leadership cards I couldn’t play. Meanwhile I had a pile of Spirit resources that I couldn’t use. This quest is much more combat heavy than I remember. I thought not tweaking might work because I knew I would need to quest hard to get a single clue. I didn’t realize I would need to exhaust a hero or Amarthuil to claim the clue. I thought I could leave it for a bit and that was a mistake. I see now there are effects that are worse if you don’t have one. Still I will need more combat power for my next attempt. Also looking at the boons again, I really should go for either the bonus defense or attack boons. The defense one could make Denethor block Thaurdir’s base attack completely. The attack one can remove a sorcery treachery from the encounter deck which would be awesome in The Dread Realm. The willpower one can heal a hero. If I play it for the healing then the bonus willpower likely won’t be on a questing hero. I’ll have to see if I can go more voltron with Celebrian’s Stone, Favor of the Lady, and Star Brooch to complete Decipher the Ancient Texts. Then I can have allies be more combat oriented perhaps.
