Danger in Dorwinion with Seastan’s Dale Force Wins – August 15, 2021

Overview

I felt I needed to play a well-built deck after the many attempts at The River Running with three different decks. I found this Leadership Spirt Dale deck that Seastan reported had the fastest setup for Dale that he’d found. My only concern after The River Running was the lack of healing. Mainly for any archery if this quest used the Riders of Rhun set. I knew the Guardians would get lots of hit points from having just a few attachments. Wild Stallion and Squire’s Helm adding more gave more comfort they could soak the damage. Apparently I didn’t need to worry because there’s no archery. I also noted from Vision of the Palantir’s scenario analysis threat could be an issue. There was Sneak Attack Gandalf and Spirit Beregond in the deck so it seemed fine. If nothing else, I could add more after playing the scenario once.

I had a couple key cards in hand to start but no Dale allies. I didn’t mulligan for fear of not getting Steward and/or King of Dale. Early on I saw no enemies which gave me time to draw the allies I needed. After a couple turns the Dale engine started kicking in and got a solid board state at turn 5. Considering how much breathing room I had compared to The River Running, I probably didn’t need a power deck. Still it was nice change of pace after the long run at the last quest.
